The knotting of Smyrna carpets is based on a very old Greek tradition and is still a popular knotting technique even after centuries. The lockable latch hooks from Prym are the ideal tools for this handicraft. As soon as the tip of the latch hook is guided through the canvas, the hook's lock opens automatically. This allows the thread to be picked up and pulled through the canvas. During this process, the hook closes itself, preventing the thread from slipping. The two latch hooks for Smyrna and Fine Smyrna are equipped with a wooden handle and thus enable comfortable work. The lockable latch hooks from Prym are the ideal tools for this handicraft.
